You\u2019re a Realtor. Not a writer.<\/h4>\n<p>Great search engine rankings will only get your website so far. Your home page should draw your visitors in and help them feel at home.<\/p>\n<p>Content that retains their interest and answers their questions will turn website visitors into clients.<\/p>\n<h4>Let\u2019s write some inviting text for the home page of your farm area website.<\/h4>\n<p>Have you heard of B-HAGs? That\u2019s a \u201cbig, hairy audacious goal\u201d. With that B-HAG in sight, you might want to skip the steps of breaking that goal down into bite-sized pieces.<\/p>\n<p>(It\u2019s that part of us that says \u201cI want to lose 20 pounds\u201d when losing 20 starts with 1, then 2, then 5. Or the part of us that wants to run a marathon, but hasn\u2019t run a 5k, 10k or half marathon, yet.)<\/p>\n<p>But reality says you have to do the work to get the results.<\/p>\n<p>This article is going to break \u201cwriting your real estate website home page\u201d into&#8230; sentences.<\/p>\n<h4>Check out this easy Real Estate website home page writing formula:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Headline. Hook. Personal, relevant, grabs attention.<\/li>\n<li>Reassure. Tell them you\u2019re talking to THEM, not just anyone.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce Yourself. One or two sentences, now that you\u2019ve got their attention.<\/li>\n<li>Invite Them In. Tell them where they should look and what they\u2019ll find.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I keep using the word \u2018inviting\u2019 to describe these sentences.<br \/>\n<strong>I\u2019m suggesting using a tone and style that feels familiar to your reader:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be conversational.<\/li>\n<li>Write the way you speak.<\/li>\n<li>Remember you don\u2019t have to be formal to be professional.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t be afraid to be funny and show personality.<\/li>\n<li>Read what you\u2019ve written out loud, and imagine you were talking to a friend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Are your typing fingers still stuck on what to write?<\/h4>\n<p>Try turning on an audio recorder (most smartphones have one) and speaking out loud.<\/p>\n<p>Answer these questions as best you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How does your happiest client feel when they\u2019ve found their perfect home?<\/li>\n<li>How does your favourite client react when you sell their home for more than they thought you would?<\/li>\n<li>What do your favourite clients say about your service to their neighbours?<\/li>\n<li>What do you say when someone asks \u201cwhat do you do\u201d? (Hint: the answer should not be as boring as \u201cI\u2019m a Realtor\u201d.)<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s was the most exciting part of your last deal?<\/li>\n<li>Who are you building this website for?<\/li>\n<li>Who do you visualize is searching for homes on your website?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If writing is still not your thing, don\u2019t hesitate to outsource.<\/p>\n<p>You can easily hire a writer if this process is keeping you stuck or creating an urge to procrastinate!<\/p>\n<p>You may need outside perspective to get the content juices flowing. If you hire someone to write for you, don\u2019t feel that you have to use the words exactly as provided. Put your own voice and tone into it.<\/p>\n<p>The bottom line is (that was a poor attempt at a \u201cwriting\u201d pun) &#8211; generic, dry and boring text gets ignored. You want to build a website that\u2019s going to get attention.
