I attended the Provident Security home security seminar tonight. It was an excellent presentation on how the security business works, what service the Police provide when it comes to alarm response and what you can do to 5 minute proof your home. Vancouver Police Constable Ray Gardner, from the Kerrisdale, Oakridge, Marpole Community Policing Office had some interesting things to say about how low a priority alarm response is for the police. He said that they must obey all traffic signs and follow all traffic laws when driving to an alarm. It was quite an interesting presentation. Here are a couple pictures from the event:
