We are starting a new series on the Ubertor blog where we will profile a real estate brokerage that is doing things differently in the real estate industry in one way or another. To start the series, we spoke with Jonathan Cooper (@jtscooper), the VP of Operations for Macdonald Realty Group in Greater Vancouver.

1. In one line, what makes MacDonald Realty unique? (ideally something that others cant say about themselves)

We operate on a win-win-win philosophy: our company is not successful unless our agents and clients are successful.

2. Why should agents consider moving their licence to MacDonald Realty?

Based on our model, the success of our brokerage is predicated on the success of our agents. We are partners with our agents, providing them with training, support, and marketing and technology programs that will help them do more business.

3.Quick bio about MacDonald Realty; how many agents, when did it start, how many offices, etc

Started in 1944, Macdonald Realty now has 930 sales associates in over 20 offices across British Columbia. We are unique in offering a full range of real estate services: residential sales, commercial sales and leasing, property and strata management, relocation, and project marketing.

4. What is next for MacDonald Realty? (new office, new Province, new direction, etc)

Continue to expand and consolidate our position as BC’s leading independent real estate services company.

5. Tell us about yourself

Jonathan Cooper, VP Operations for Macdonald Realty Group. I oversee PR, marketing and technology programs for all of our divisions. I’m also involved in seeking opportunities for expansion.
