Interesting video by Scott Stratten – he talks about how agents are “using technology” just to use it. I agree with what he is saying.. I see so many agents using social media to blast listings, or making claims about their business that are either inaccurate or from years past. Take a moment to check out the video below, what do you think? Are you doing these things in your business?

I agree with Scott. So many people are spamming their social profiles, and the web in general, with weak, thin useless content and not creating a brand….or providing any real value when it comes to real estate. Google is doing a better job at thinning the heard to find the content creators and those who have built a ‘brand’ online.

Excellent tips! especially about qr codes. I share your opinion about twitter and giving only property tweets. Another one I hate is on Realtor’s websites, their blog is all about what they sold or listed. It offers no benefit.

    Thanks!

Don’t you think it also comes back to Real Estate agents being afraid to Niche or be Different? They want to be everything to every boday and by being Social on Social MEdia it shows who they are and that might tunr potential customers off. They dont see that being themselves will attract the right kind of customers to them.

I don’t think many agents understand social media. They think social media in real estate is to make friends in Facebook, Linkedin or Tweeter and to spam their listings. Social media is not for everyone. Social media is not working well for me and I now focus on generating leads by SEO.
